PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 15-year-old was shot in a Port Richmond Wawa parking lot Wednesday.
Police say the teen was inside a silver SUV in the parking lot around 1:30 a.m. on Aramingo Avenue near East Cumberland Street when he was shot.
According to our partners at NBC10, the SUV is seen pulling out from the Wawa toward Aramingo Avenue when another vehicle pulls into the parking lot from the same area.
That’s when police say shots were fired, shattering the driver’s side window of the car the teen was in. The other car fled the scene.
The teen was shot in the arm and stomach and was seen exiting the SUV alongside a few others who were also inside the car – they got out on the passenger’s side.
The 15-year-old then ran inside the Wawa for help. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he’s listed in critical, but stable condition. Police say another teen, also age 15, was injured from the shooting and taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
No other injuries are known at this time.
Police say it is not yet clear who was driving the SUV, but the 15-year-old was the only one who left the car on the driver’s side.
