PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police made an arrest after a woman was shot in the face Wednesday morning in Tioga, and they are still looking for the shooter who killed a man later that day in West Oak Lane.
The earlier shooting happened near the intersection of 21st and Ontario streets just before 11 a.m., according to police. Officers responded to reports of a person with a gun in the area.
Authorities say a 32-year-old woman was shot in the right side of her face. She was taken to Temple University Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
In addition to the arrest, police recovered a gun from the scene. The investigation is active and ongoing.
Police are also investigating an unrelated fatal shooting that happened around 5 p.m. in West Oak Lane.
Near the intersection of Chelten Avenue and Lambert Street, officers found a 32-year-old man with gunshot wounds throughout his body. They took him to Einstein Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
Investigators have not recovered any weapons and have made no arrests in the later shooting at this time.
