PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A shooting investigation closed part of I-95 northbound in Northeast Philadelphia for several hours early Wednesday morning — one of the busiest travel days of the year — creating a big mess for many driving to their Thanksgiving destinations as well as everyday commuters.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a shooting occurred around 2:40 a.m. near the mile marker for the Academy Road exit.

Three men, all in their 20s, were shot in their car. One person suffered a graze wound, another was wounded but is in stable condition, and a third person is in critical condition.

Two of the men are from Trenton, New Jersey, and one is from Morrisville, Bucks County.

The car had several bullet holes on the passenger side.

All northbound lanes on I-95 were closed between the Betsy Ross Bridge at Exit 26 and Academy Road at Exit 32. Lanes didn't reopen until around 9:30 a.m.

That forced drivers to take alternate routes, creating congestion on Aramingo and Cottman avenues, State Road, and other surrounding streets.

No arrests have been made, and police haven't revealed a motive.
