TRENTON, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — A 51-year-old Trenton man is in custody after police said he sexually assaulted two young girls on separate occasions last month.
Rasheen Gaither was arrested last Friday outside Bagged U, the convenience store he owned on the corner of Pennington Avenue and Willow Street in Trenton, that police say he also operated as an illegal weed dispensary.
According to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, investigators got information last week that Gaither had assaulted two girls under the age of 13 in August, then executed a search warrant. They said one assault happened at the store and another allegedly happened while a girl stayed overnight at his Trenton home.
While searching the store, police also found four pounds of marijuana and a handgun.
Gaither has been charged with two counts each of first and second degree sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. He also faces a firearm charge.
