OAKS, PA (KYW Newsradio) — Red ball caps, t-shirts, and flags dotted the energetic crowd that packed into the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, and waited quite a few hours Monday to hear from former President Donald Trump.
“You know, we’re all in this together. We’ve got to win this election November 5th,” Trump said to a roaring applause.
Thousands of people sat and stood wrapped around the press zone across the room, as the former president answered only a few questions related to small businesses, inflation, energy costs, and the border.
“We’re going to drill, baby, drill. We’re going to have so much energy, we’re going to bring prices down,” he said when asked about energy.
Trump touted success stories from his presidency and also took digs at his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.
“She’s actually more dangerous than him,” he said, comparing the vice president to President Joe Biden. “But he’s actually smarter than her. I never thought I’d say that.”
The town hall had to be briefly paused twice for apparent medical emergencies in the audience.
To end the town hall, Trump asked for music to be blasted through the speakers and encouraged his supporters to go out and vote on Nov. 5. Andrea Bocelli’s “Con te partirò,” “YMCA,” and “Ave Maria,” were just three of the songs played.
Harris also spent time Monday campaigning in Pennsylvania, but on the other side of the state in Erie.
