GAYBORHOOD (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia Police have identified two suspects wanted in connection with a shooting earlier this month that left a man dead in the Gayborhood.
They are Nyheem Hinson-Rakley, 22, of North Philadelphia, and Tyrik Ransom, 24, of Southwest Philadelphia, wanted in connection with the shooting death of 31-year-old Derwin Matthews back on June 2.
Police say Matthews was out celebrating Pride when he got into an argument with another man on Camac Street between Spruce and Locust in the Gayborhood around 2:30 in the morning.
A gunman shot him in the abdomen and fled the scene. Matthews died at the hospital hours later.
Police are asking for the public’s help to find Hinson-Rakley and Ransom. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit, or call the department’s tip line, 215-686-TIPS.
