CHESTER, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) -- Two people were shot and killed while driving in separate shootings in Delaware County Monday. Police want the public's help for both cases.

In Chester, police say the victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Shots were fired around 1 p.m., in the area of 9th Street and Central Avenue.

Police say a stray bullet hit 62-year-old Diana Davis as she was driving, and she crashed into a pole. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Some of the bullets also hit another car ,which had two women and a child inside. Police, however, say they were not hurt.

Hours later, around 5:30 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police went to the site of a crash on I-95 Southbound in Tinicum Township. It was mile marker 9, not far from the airport.

Police discovered the victim had been shot, and they say they're investigating this as a homicide. The crash reconstruction and forensic teams were on scene, and the southbound side of 95 was closed for about four hours last night.

Authorities stress that there is no connection between these two shootings. State police is looking to hear from anyone with information about the I-95 shooting and crash, especially those who may have been in contact with the car.

And Chester Police are looking for tips on the stray bullet death.
