PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Four people suspected of operating a mail theft ring in Upper Merion Township have been arrested, and police have warrants issued for two others who investigators say were involved.

The Upper Merion Police Department says Davon Broughton, 27, John Klotz, 18, and Kayla Massa, 26, all from Camden, New Jersey — along with Joshua Crews, 26 from Las Vegas — altered and cashed checks stolen from residential mailboxes in King of Prussia.

According to police, some of the checks were cashed in the Philadelphia area, while others were cashed out of state.

Police say this group, and two other individuals who were not yet arrested, stole $623,000 from 51 victims.

They say that’s just a fraction of the missing money, as it’s likely some thefts were unreported. Authorities believe more than $2 million was stolen from victims.

Nearly 200 more search warrants have been written, as police try to find more suspects.

Upper Merion Police received 307 reports of stolen mail since winter 2022.

Police did not initially identify the two others who have warrants issued against them.
