PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — U.S. marshals are now involved in the search for the man accused of killing two tow truck drivers about three months ago in a Philadelphia turf war.
Najee Williams, 27, has been on the run for months, and dozens of investigators are now trying to find him.
“We are going to start increasing pressure on him,” Supervisory Deputy Marshal Robert Clark told NBC10. “We’re gonna restrict his options, and it’s only gonna be a matter of time until we get him.”
Williams owns NKW Towing & Recovery LLC and drives a truck himself, police said at a February news conference. Authorities believe he shot and killed 20-year-old David Garcia-Morales in Frankford in December and 25-year-old Aaron Whitfield in Oxford Circle in January.
“The tow trucking business is very competitive. It’s very aggressive. But again, it doesn’t give you the right to take somebody’s life over a dispute,” Clark said.
Williams is considered to be armed and dangerous. The U.S. Marshals Service added $1,500 to the $20,000 reward from Philadelphia police for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
