PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A $2 million Powerball ticket was sold at a beer store in South Philadelphia.

The ticket was sold at Porter Beverage, at Seventh and Porter streets, near Mifflin Square Park, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery. The store gets $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The ticket for the Dec. 31 drawing played the $1 Power Play option, doubling winnings from $1 million to $2 million.

The Powerball jackpot is now estimated at $291 million for the next drawing on Wednesday — which is only about a third of the current Mega Millions jackpot.

The Mega Millions jackpot increased to an estimated $940 million overnight after another drawing without a grand prize winner. It is the sixth-largest jackpot in U.S. history.
