PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are trying to identify a man who fired nearly a dozen gunshots at a woman on the street in the Feltonville section of the city.

It happened around 7 a.m. on Monday at Fourth Street and Roosevelt Boulevard. The victim told police she was walking down Roosevelt Boulevard when a masked man ran toward her with a gun in his hand.

She ran west onto Lawrence Street, where the man shot at her 10 times from the other side of the street, police said.

Surveillance video shows the suspect being dropped off and picked up by a Nissan Juke. It was last seen driving south on Roosevelt Boulevard from Fifth Street.

Captain John Craig with Northwest Detectives said multiple homes and cars were hit by bullets, but no one was injured.

"It's extremely troubling that someone would have complete disregard for human life to act in this manner. I am thankful no one else was injured or the complainant," said Craig. "It's a miracle, frankly."

Police do not know why the man was firing at the woman and are interviewing her as part of the ongoing investigation.
