PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Villanova student has been charged with sexual assault that authorities said occurred on campus in December.
D’Hani Cobbs, 20, was arrested by Villanova Police on Friday. He’s charged with the sexual assault of another university student in an incident officials said took place on Dec. 6th. The university’s Department of Public Safety received a report on Dec. 7 and issued a campus-wide public safety alert.
Cobbs is charged with rape by forcible compulsion, sexual assault, and related felony offenses.
In a statement, Villanova said campus police launched an investigation once the university learned of the allegation, notified the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, and removed Cobbs from campus.
“Sexual violence of any kind is not tolerated on our campus, and we are committed to both supporting the victim and fostering a safe environment for all of our students. We are deeply troubled any time we receive reports of such misconduct, as our priority is, and always has been, to ensure we have a safe community for our students, faculty, and staff,” the university said.
According to court documents, Cobbs is a native of Camden County, New Jersey. His page on Villanova’s athletic website has been taken down, but Cobbs was listed as a freshman wide receiver who returned one punt in 2025.
