South Jersey man accused of killing daughter, injuring wife in baseball bat attack found dead

Police found the body of Gregory Kelemen, 57, on Tuesday morning.

CAMDEN COUNTY (KYW Newsradio) -- Police say the man wanted in the beating death of his 22-year-old daughter was found dead on Tuesday morning of an apparent suicide.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office says that Gregory Kelemen, 57, had beaten his wife and daughter with a baseball bat at their home on Round Hill Road on Monday morning. From there, he fled in a silver Toyota Rav4 and called work to say he wouldn’t be coming in because of a family emergency.

On Tuesday morning at approximately 11:30 a.m., police found Kelemen's body near an apartment complex in Voorhees Township.

Kelemen's wife, Sheri, called 911 after the attack, and when police arrived they found both Sheri and her daughter, Katherine, covered in blood in Katherine's bedroom.

Sheri told investigators that her husband was saying "I can’t take it anymore," as he hit her over and over with the bat.

Both Sheri and Katherine were rushed to the hospital, where Katherine died. Sheri is currently listed in critical, but stable, condition.
