PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Winning sure has its perks.
To celebrate the Phillies’ incredible strides in recent weeks, Wawa is launching a spinoff of its popular discount promo HoagieFest.
During Wawa’s regular HoagieFest over the summer, Phillies left-fielder Kyle Schwarber hit more than 20 home runs and became one of the best power hitters in baseball.
Wawa said fans had asked to bring back the promo, and it listened. The special deal is now available throughout the postseason, this time dubbed “SchwarberFest.”
The promotion came at the perfect time, too. It was announced Tuesday, and later that night during Game 1 of the NLCS against the Padres, Schwarber hit a record-breaking home run — a jaw-dropping, 488-foot drive that carried the Phillies to a 2-0 victory.
The limited-time SchwarberFest deal offers $5 Shortis and $6 classic hoagies for Wawa rewards members. Customers must order and pay in the Wawa app to get the deal.
Wawa is also donating $25,000 to Philabundance as part of the SchwarberFest promotion.
