PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A row home partially collapsed in West Philadelphia Wednesday morning.
It happened just before 7 a.m. near 60th and Spruce streets.
Most of the side wall is exposed, and bricks are scattered across the sidewalk and street. Artwork hanging on interior walls could also be seen as the exterior wall fell away.
Authorities said no one was hurt.
Neighbor Deron Lewis said he feels for the people involved. “It’s devastating that a family would likely be in the street now because of these old houses.”
Lewis said there are many houses in the neighborhood that are in a similar state.
“I know people that’s living in houses like this with signs on them and people still living in them, but they have nowhere else to go,” he said.
The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
