PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- The Harrisburg woman charged with breaking into the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 and stealing U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's laptop is free pending trial.

Riley Williams, 22, is in her mother’s custody, based on an agreement her lawyer made with federal prosecutors that includes an ankle bracelet and travel only for her legal issues.

A federal judge has also ordered Williams to stay off the internet.

The laptop has not been recovered. There are allegations Williams was trying to sell it to a friend in Russia.

Prosecutors say they recently learned that, before Williams was arrested, she allegedly instructed a contact on the group-chatting app Discord to delete messages connected to the Capitol riot.

Their request sparked a lengthy discussion about Internet-connected devices in the home, especially the television.

The judge finally decided Williams is not allowed to watch an internet-connected TV. She must downgrade to a flip-phone within five days. Until then she can use her mother’s phone, but only with her mother present. And any employment she gets in the meantime must be approved by the court.

At an earlier hearing, William’s mother took an oath to act as a custodian of her daughter and to report any violations or she could face charges.

The judge at that hearing told the younger Williams, “You’re the one person in this courtroom who can make sure your mother doesn’t have to choose between her love for you and her duty to this court."
