PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman is dead, and a child is injured after a shooting inside an East Goshen Township condominium Friday morning. Officials are investigating it as a suicide.
Police were called to the Summit House Condominium on West Chester Pike near Reservoir Road just before 11 a.m.
There, they found a 9-year-old conscious with a gunshot wound. She was given medical treatment and taken to a nearby hospital.
Inside the residence, police found a woman in her 40s dead with a gunshot wound. Police believe the girl was struck by the same bullet that killed the woman.
A gun was recovered at the scene. The relationship between the woman and child has not been disclosed, nor have their identities.
What led to the shootings is not yet known, but police believe there is no threat to the community at this time.
