Woman struck and killed by train along Melrose Park Station tracks

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman is dead after she was struck by a SEPTA train in Montgomery County Saturday evening.

According to our newsgathering partners at NBC10, the woman was hit on the tracks of the Melrose Park Station just before 3:30 p.m.

SEPTA suspended service on the Doylestown, Warminster and West Trenton lines until 6 p.m. as officials investigated.

SEPTA said service trains will continue to bypass Melrose Park Station and operate on the northbound tracks until further notice. A list of alternative public transit options can be found on SEPTA’s website.
