PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Pennsylvania Republicans have endorsed state Treasurer Stacy Garrity for governor in next year’s gubernatorial election.
The Republican State Committee said in a statement that members have confidence in Garrity’s “record of public service, leadership, and delivering real, tangible results for Pennsylvania”, adding they feel she is the right person to take on Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro.
Garrity announced her campaign in August.
State Sen. Doug Mastriano, the GOP nominee in 2022, has teased running again in 2026, but has not made an official announcement yet.
Shapiro defeated Mastriano by about 15 points in the last election.
The Pennsylvania primary is set for May 2026, with the general election in November 2026.
