2 men charged with assaulting police officers during fight at Sea Isle City

Two Pennsylvania men were arrested in Sea Isle City, accused of assaulting police officers who were trying to break up their fight. Police say 31-year-old Patrick McStravog, of Audubon, fought with 60-year-old Robert McMonagle, of Norristown. While they were being treated on scene by EMS, police say McMonagle tried to get back to McStravog and hit a Sea Isle City officer in the chest in the process. Police tried to arrest McMonagle and say he resisted. Meanwhile, McStravog left medics and tried to approach McMonagle. Officials say he then assaulted an officer as well. Physical force had to be used on both of them to complete the arrests, according to police. Two officers were hurt, one badly enough to require hospitalization. Both McMonagle and McStravog are charged with aggravated assault, among other offenses.
