The SS United States has a date with the bottom of the sea. Officials in Okaloosa County, Florida, say they plan to sink the historic ocean liner during the second week of November, as long as the weather cooperates.
What was America's flagship will become the world's largest artificial reef. It had been docked for decades in South Philly until it was towed by tugboat early last year.
The new home of the SS US will be at the bottom of the Gulf, 22 miles off the coast of Destin-Fort Walton Beach.
