Horsham firefighter fired after using racial slur over radio, officials say

In Montgomery County, a Horsham Fire Company employee was fired Tuesday after officials say he used a racial slur during emergency radio transmissions. In a statement issued Wednesday, officials from Horsham Fire Company No. 1 say while at an incident on County Line Road about 4 p.m. Tuesday, the employee used a racial slur which was broadcast over county radio communications. The employee, who is a firefighter and EMT, was not named. Fire officials say the employee was fired as soon as they returned to the station Tuesday night. They say they have arranged for the company to have sensitivity and professional training in the wake of the incident. (Photo: NBC10)
