‘Numerous’ arrests made following Upper Darby fireworks show

Chaos erupted after a fireworks show in Delaware County Thursday night. It happened after the America 250 celebration at Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast High School in Upper Darby. Police said they were trying to safely clear the area, but groups of people refused to leave and “began disrupting local businesses and people leaving the event.” Officials said they had to call in help from neighboring departments to help control the crowds and assist with arrests. Police said they gave multiple warnings before making arrests. Police said they made “numerous” arrests, but didn’t give an exact number.
