Parents, students and teachers blasted the Camden City School District's plan to lay off 100 workers as part of a restructuring. The pink slips went out on Thursday. The district says some positions are being eliminated, but new ones are being created, so the laid-off workers are being encouraged to apply for new jobs within the district.
Most of the layoffs are in the central office, but 21 teachers were also laid off. The district says they have placements for all of those teachers.
