Tax software maker Vertex in KOP lays off nearly 10% of its workers in shift toward AI

Artificial intelligence is costing dozens of people their jobs at a company in King of Prussia. The tax and compliance software maker Vertex says it's laying off nearly 1 in 10 of its 1,900 workers. About 60 of them are based in Montgomery County. The Philadelphia Business Journal reports that Vertex is looking to become an AI-first company to better serve its customers.
