Sherry Knight
For over two decades, Sherry has been a familiar voice in San Diego, spending the last 12 years right here at KYXY. Her love affair with radio started on a school field trip at age nine, leading to her first internship in San Francisco at just 16. Since then, Sherry has built a versatile 30-year career spanning markets from Salinas and Fresno to Phoenix, mastering everything from Country and Old School to Hip Hop.But Sherry’s passion for her community doesn’t stop when the mic turns off. For the past 16 years, she has also been a dedicated Kindergarten Teacher. This unique dual career is made possible by the unwavering support of her family—including her husband, a proud Army veteran, and their grown twin daughters.Deeply rooted in San Diego’s military and Filipino communities. You’ll often find her out in the county emceeing events and supporting local organizations. When she isn’t in her two "happy places"—the studio or the classroom—she is likely enjoying a monthly trip to Disneyland, cheering at a baseball game, or relaxing at home with her cat.
