At the same time, Brothers Osborne has learned a valuable lesson after all these years. When to step away and focus on their mental health.
T.J. and John Osborne were interviewed on CBS This Morning as John spoke about the mental health crisis he encountered while making their latest album Skeletons.
"I remember calling our manager at the time, and I told him, 'I can't go in the studio. I don't know what's wrong with me,” John Osborne said. “I don't know why I'm not happy. I'm depressed. My anxiety is through the roof. I can't sleep. My ears are ringing.'"
T.J. was asked if he was worried about his brother during this time and said, “oh, big time.”
"I could just look at him and tell he did not wanna be there, and that's when I was like, 'Wow, like, we need to go home now.' We ended up canceling some dates."
"And with a lot of therapy, a lot of self-help, a lot of love from my friends and family, I was able to kind of get to a better place so we can finish the album,” John said. “But going into this record, I considered quitting music… which is something I never in my life thought I would want to do."
Skeletons marked the third studio album from Brothers Osborne and it proved to be another success for the duo.
The album received a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2021 ACM Awards as Brothers Osborne also received a Duo of the Year nomination.
