As the release date creeps up on us like Batman slinking out of a rainy alley, another glimpse into the upcoming blockbuster, “The Batman,” has arrived.
The last we saw our caped crusader in the trailer titled “The Bat and The Cat,” he was flirting and fighting with Catwoman, between dodging cars, bullets, and bad guys, of course. We only got a hint of the Riddler though, who looks to be Batman’s major obstacle in the new movie.

Instead of a trailer, this latest teaser is a whole scene from the movie.
In it, as Looper reported, Bruce Wayne arrives at a huge gothic church and a funeral for what appears to be a policeman. He notices a young, sad boy sitting right up front, in whom he no doubt recognizes himself.
Soon, low rumbles and screams from outside rise and increase, and Wayne looks up to see one shadowed figure remain in the balcony as the rest of the attendees start desperately running out.
One could assume it’s Paul Dano's the Riddler, but as they’re keeping the mystery of the psychotic puzzle-pusher going in this clip, audiences will have to wait to find out.
More and more mourners start screaming and running until a car, covered in spray-painted symbols, comes crashing into the church, ultimately revealing a driver, played by Peter Sarsgaard, with a bomb strapped to his neck.

Robert Pattinson, as Wayne, doesn’t say one word throughout, but conveys sympathy, memory, and terror just with his intense stares.
It’s an impressive, disturbing clip that jumps from somber to explosive to dire, and should reassure fans that Matt Reeves was a solid choice to direct this reboot.
Previous hits he helmed, like "Cloverfield" (2008) and "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (2014), proved Reeves can balance explosive, inventive visuals with the narrative gravitas that marks Batman’s brooding, vengeful history.
“The Batman” will finally fly into theaters on March 4.
