After “working for almost two and a half years straight,” Channing Tatum is taking a well-deserved summer off.
But if you’re pinning your hopes on a return to the “Magic Mike” franchise come fall, don’t hold your breath.
The 43-year old actor recently told People that he has no plans to continue the story. “I am done. We did it all. We chewed all the meat off the bone on that one,” he said. “There’s nothing left to do.”
Or is there? The “21 Jump Street” alum teased that “the only thing I would come back for” would be a look at the Magic Mike characters as senior citizens. “’Grumpy Old Strippers.’ Like ‘Grumpy Old Men: Septuagenarian Strippers.’”

For now, Tatum is focusing on his latest project, the children’s book “The One and Only Sparkella and the Big Lie,” which tells the story of a little girl who tries to befriend the cool new kid at school but ends up learning about honesty after she “borrows” a toy from another child in the process.
The book, the third in the Sparkella series, was inspired by Tatum’s ten-year old daughter, Everly, whom he shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
While Everly is currently “in a very hardcore Taylor Swift mode right now,” it hasn’t been that long since she was getting into schoolyard scraps with Sandra Bullock’s daughter.
The two girls, who were preschool classmates, butted heads so much that Tatum and Bullock were called to the principal’s office. But rest assured the girls no longer “have beef,” as Tatum shared that after getting to know each other more while their parents filmed “The Lost City,” they now “just want to hang out all the time.”
