His wife, Carol, confirmed the beloved actor's death to TMZ.

The outlet reports the Mexican-American star who played Luis, the "Fix-It-Shop" owner on the iconic show, took a break from the show in the late 80s, but returned within a year. According to Entertainment Tonight, Delgado left the children's series in 2016.
His wife told TMZ that her husband was still a working actor up until the COVID-19 pandemic, playing the lead in the play "Quixote Nuevo" in three cities before productions were shut down. He even did some voiceover work in January.
Delgado also appeared in the documentary "Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street," which aired on HBO in 2021 and can currently be streamed on HBO Max.
