
Some welcome news came from Entergy Louisiana via Twitter today for Baton Rouge residents. The power utility said they’ll have the electricity back on for the large majority of their customers in less than a week.
Over a million residents of Louisiana were left without power in the wake of Hurricane Ida. Entergy said they will keep turning the power on steadily for residents across the state, prioritizing places like medical facilities and police and fire departments.
“We energize those critical customers often times you’ll see neighborhood that are energized as a result of the feeder they serve more than just a hospital or a water system and these kinds if things, " said a spokesperson with Entergy. “You see some neighborhoods get energized. You’ll see some businesses get energized.”
