Residents in New Orleans can once again flush their toilets and use appliaces like washing machines and dishwashers.
The Sewerage and Water Board says sewer pump stations and treatment plants are back online and operating normally.
The loss of Entergy power to the region left S&WB without commercial power for days after Ida struck. That led to the utility to urge residents to conserve water usage out of fear people suddenly washing their clothes and dishes would overload the sewer system and cause backups.
