Crocs' latest collaboration proves that the shoes aren't just for gardening anymore.

As hard as the tonier tastemakers have tried, it seems Crocs just won’t go away. More proof of the rubber clogs' resilience comes in the form of a new, ‘90s nostalgia-quelling collection from Zappos that has us buggin'.
It’s an initially odd pairing with the comedy classic, “Clueless" considering the enduring appeal of the film has been predicated on hip fashion.
But, of course, that’s what makes the pairing so genius; Sometimes a surprise forced pairing works.
When you think about it, the characters in “Clueless” mixed and matched previously verboten combos like plaids and animal prints, and even brought platform shoes back from their ‘70s grave, if in a more bubbly ‘90s way.
As The Hollywood Reporter explained, this new Crocs campaign centers around some new stars dressing up like “Clueless” faves – singer-songwriter Victoria Monét as Cher, actress Amber Riley as Dionne, R&B artist Thuy as Amber, and filmmaker River Gallo as Tai.
And each sports a character-connected Croc print. “The Cher shoe calls upon the character’s iconic yellow plaid outfit combo with a silver chain embellishment, while incorporating a platform into the classic Croc look. The Dionne is a classic clog with a black plaid design, while The Amber style includes a fuzzy lining and leopard print. Lastly, The Tai is perfect for lounging at home in easy, slip-in classic slides in blue.”
In 2018, Crocs closed all of its factories and North American stores, and it looked like curtains for the shoe brand.
As if?!
As part of its resuscitation, Crocs has jumped on quirky collaborations and an increased its reputation as a genuinely comfortable and quirky alternative to ubiquitous sneakers.

Luxury designers, including Christopher Kane and Balenciaga, as well as musicians Justin Bieber, Post Malone, and Bad Bunny are just a few of the collaborators Crocs has joined with to try to cement hip status. Questlove even wore a gold pair to the Academy Awards last year.
The “Clueless” collection runs from $35 to $65.
