The initiative is called Pizza vs. Pandemic and it is a collaboration between Slice Out Hunger, Pizza to the Polls, and the Slice pizza delivery app.
The money will be used to order food from a local pizzeria via the Slice pizza app to be delivered to a local hospital, clinic, shelter, or care center so its workers can get a hot and delicious meal.
Not only does it benefit healthcare workers by giving them some well-deserved pizza, but it also benefits local businesses that have been hit hard by social distancing regulations surrounding the global coronavirus outbreak. Since March 21, the group has raised almost $100,000 and delivered more than 2,000 pizzas. In addition to donating, you can also nominate a care center to receive a pizza delivery through the website.
