Today they talked with Carmen Vega, the Executive Director of Lazarus House in Lawrence. Lazarus House helps about 2,000 individuals and families EVERY WEEK with everything from food and clothing to shelter and support services. But what makes Carmen’s story especially meaningful is that she knows this community on a very personal level. She grew up in Lawrence, in the Hancock Housing Projects, raised by a single mom who herself once stood in line at the Lazarus House Food Pantry. So for Carmen, this work is personal. Plus they have their 2026 WALK FORE HOPE coming up in September.
