April is Autism Awareness Month and Kendra's family has been affected by Autism as her two sons (now 8 and 9) were both diagnosed at age 3. If you, or someone in your family has been affected by Autism, then you understand how the sounds, the crowds… the idea of "take turns" can all play a huge factor in what some are able to do, comfortably. Kendra along with her neighbor, Mary an avid golfer, who's family was also affected by Autism, have started a local chapter of the Ernie Els GameON Autism Golf Program.
They are fundraising to purchase the necessary golf equipment and supplies to establish this program. (These are examples of the equipment they will need to purchase.) 100% of the proceeds will go to supplies, and all equipment needed for these kids. The vision is to provide a rich learning environment where autistic individuals feel welcome and included in the golfing community.
