It should first be noted that Savannah Guthrie is one of the most respected journalists in network news.
Just this week, Guthrie celebrated her 10th anniversary on the “Today” show with a touching 15-minute tribute that saw her colleagues honour her dedication and professionalism. Then the waterworks really ran when they surprised Guthrie with an appearance from her two tykes, Vale and Charles.
But it is June, and that means Guthrie is next in line in the seasonal stream of celebrity swimsuit pics.
But fooled you -- this one is of the more charming type.
While Guthrie’s co-anchors posted congrats to Instagram, Al Roker -- still beaming about his daughter’s wedding, no doubt -- went the seasonal route by posting a shot of him and Savannah lounging in a pool.
While Savannah’s rocking a black one-piece, all we can see of Al is his usual good guy smile in an Olympics hat.
The lovable weatherman’s caption is expectedly respectful.
"Hard to believe but it's been ten years since this smart, funny, generous, legal eagle journalist joined @todayshow @3rdhourtoday. Happy Savannahversary."
Savannah’s big smile might be brightened further for celebrating another anniversary of sorts -- last year this time she was about to undergo successful eye surgery.
Other “Today” co-star pals chimed in with IG photos and salutations too, like Hoda Kotb who unearthed a lovely pic of Guthrie with her then-baby daughter Vale, now 6 years old, and the caption, "Sg it's your 10 year anniversary... so many worky pix to choose from... but this one shows your whole heart. I love sitting next to you."
Dylan Dreyer posted a photo of when the two were pregnant at the same time, with the tender caption, "Shared memories both in life and on TV. I truly admire you for your poise, quick wit, intelligence, kindness, and friendship. Happy #savannahversary and congratulations on 10 years hosting @todayshow @savannahguthrie!!!"
But Insta-fans really loved that pool pic.
One commented, "Fabulous photo Al! Loved the anniversary tribute to Savannah on the show!"
Another wrote, "Love these cute pics! Warmest congratulations to Savannah!"
Still another raved, “Congratulations!! I love the show and the relationship with all of you.”
And one succinct fan simply stated, “She's fricken Awesome!”
