The legendary singer spent her weekend roasting some of the biggest stars in music including Chance the Rapper and The Weeknd.
Warwick first set her sights on Chance, writing, “Hi, @chancetherapper. If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name? I cannot stop thinking about this.”
After Chance chimed in saying “sorry, I’m still freaking out that u know who I am,” Warwick responded, “I am now Dionne the Singer.”
She then turned to The Weeknd. “The Weeknd is next. Why? It’s not even spelled correctly?”
The “Blinding Lights” star caught wind of her tweet and was absolutely head over heels about it. I just got roasted by Dionne Warwick and I feel honored! You just made my day,” he wrote.
Afterwards, Warwick turned her attention to another megastar, Taylor Swift. Unlike the roasts she dished out earlier, Warwick had quite the wholesome message for Swift. “Okay, what about Taylor Swift?” she wrote. “I want to tell her I hope that she’s having a good day and keeping her head high.”
Taylor was flabbergasted that Warwick would write her a message and responded by saying, “I just saw that you tweeted me!! I’m a huge fan and I respect you so much, thank you for wishing me well.”
“I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, thank you for spreading joy.”
From roasting Chance the Rapper and The Weeknd to spreading holiday joy with Taylor Swift, Warwick definitely had an eventful weekend on Twitter. In case you were wondering why she made the decision to call out Chance and The Weeknd, she offered an explanation.
“It’s all in good fun. Of course I am just kidding,” she wrote. “Those talented young men were good sports & very respectful! Enjoy your Sunday. Stay kind.”
