40 years after comedy filmmaker Mel Brooks gave us "History of the World Part 1," Hulu is giving us "Part 2" via an eight-episode series penned and executive-produced by the 95-year old himself.

Variety notes that it is being described as a sequel. The original film was made up of segments covering biblical times, Ancient Rome, the French Revolution. There were also a few musical numbers covering the Spanish Inquisition and the iconic "Jews in Space."
Nick Kroll, Wanda Sykes, and Ike Barinholtz will be among those helping out Brooks to tell more historical tales in 2022. It's unclear which historical events the sequel will cover.
“I can’t wait to once more tell the real truth about all the phony baloney stories the world has been conned into believing are History!” Brooks, an EGOT winner, said.
Writing for the show commences this month with production set to begin next spring.
Brooks is best-known for comedies like "Blazing Saddles," "Young Frankenstein," and "Spaceballs."
