Though he didn’t play himself, The Weeknd is the latest celeb to get The Simpsons treatment. So obviously - let’s talk about it.

On the most recent episode of the long-standing animated series, titled “Bart The Cool Kid,” the superstar singer voiced a character named Orion Hughes, who helps Bart become cool. Wanting to also be cool, this leads Homer to convince the local dads to also take on Orion’s style, because of course. Which eventually leads the brand to lose its cool factor, because obvi.
Character deep dive real quick — Orion is a child influencer, that despite having no interest in skateboarding, nor even knowing how to skate owns the fictional skate brand “Slipreme.” Which yes, takes its inspo and fake logo design from Supreme, which hopefully needs no further explanation.
Check out a couple clips from the episode below.
Not a first for The Weeknd, who’s lent his voice to animated shows like Robot Chicken and American Dad! back in 2020. For the latter, he appeared as a version of himself and even co-wrote the episode titled “A Starboy is Born” and well as an original song titled “I’m a Virgin” for the episode.
Manifesting his most recent animate stint, The Weeknd told Variety back in May 2020 that an appearance on The Simpsons was on his “bucket list.” Adding, “that would be a dream — and if they’re reading this, I actually have a pretty cool idea if they’re down.”
...Wonder if Orion was that idea?!
