If only everybody looked as good in retirement as Drew Bledsoe. The former quarterback enjoyed the Patriots’ beatdown over the Titans Sunday sipping wine in Robert Kraft’s box, while a scarf was draped over his shoulders and tied neatly across his chest.
The man who built Gillette Stadium looked like he owned the place, apologies to Mr. Kraft.
Bledsoe has experienced a mini-renaissance in recent weeks, thanks to his starring role in the debut episode of Tom Brady’s “Man in the Arena.” A large potion of the episode was spent lauding Bledsoe for his professionalism during the 2001 campaign when Brady took his job, with Brady saying it was an indelible lesson on the value of supporting your teammates.
“What I respect so much about [Drew] is he never let any of those emotions negatively impact me in any way,” Brady said. “I love Drew, and I respected Drew for everything he had done.”
Before the game, Bledsoe was on the field visiting with another former teammate, Mike Vrabel, whose Titans defeated Brady and the Patriots in the 2019 playoffs.
As the owner of a high-profile winery in his native Washington state, Bledsoe’s status is far from a mystery. Still, it was great to see him at Gillette Sunday, watching another Patriots franchise QB blossom in style.
