The Brooklyn Nets have been reeling lately, losing their last eight games, and it did not take long to realize that stretch was probably going to reach nine on Tuesday night against the Boston Celtics.
Eight minutes into the first quarter, the Nets — who were without James Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving — had just one basket and found themselves in an incredible 28-2 hole with four minutes to go in the quarter.

In fact, the Celtics — who entered the night 7-1 in their last eight games — jumped out to a 14-0 lead before the Nets even made their first field goal, a jump shot from Blake Griffin at the 7:49 mark.
But the Celtics followed that with another 14-0 run before James Johnson hit a 6-foot jump shot with 3:46 left in the quarter to spark an 11-0 run from the Nets.
They finished the first quarter in a 35-16 deficit and fans on social media, many of whom were tuned into the nationally televised game, began roasting the team for its poor first quarter performance.
