The City of Spartanburg’s A Dickens of a Christmas presented by Spartanburg Community College will return to Downtown Spartanburg this December

As the holiday season approaches, Spartanburg residents will be able to get into a festive spirit with the return of A Dickens of a Christmas. This year’s Victorian themed holiday festival is presented by Spartanburg Community College and is sure to get any Scrooge into the holiday mindset.

The festival will take place Tuesday, December 6th throughout the streets of Downtown Spartanburg and is sure to have something for everyone to enjoy including shopping specials at local businesses and a Christmas Market featuring over 50 artisan vendors. Other highlights of the festival include living window displays, three stages of entertainment, horse-drawn carriage rides, free Polar Express train rides and Victorian kids crafts, and the official lighting of the Denny’s Plaza Christmas tree.

“Our team is delighted to be able to sprinkle some holiday magic throughout the streets of Spartanburg,” said Aundi Hunter, Special Events Manager for the City of Spartanburg. “This is the 28th year of A Dickens of a Christmas and we’re hard at work behind the scenes ensuring this is the best year yet!”

Key facts about A Dickens of a Christmas include:
• 2022 marks the 28th anniversary of the festival.
• This year’s event is made possible by Spartanburg Community College.
• New this year, there will be a teen zone dedicated exclusively to young people ages 13 – 18.
• The Denny’s Plaza Christmas tree lighting will occur at 7:30pm on December 6th.
