The one and only, Steve Carell (or should we say… Michael Scott) made a guest appearance on the ‘Office Ladies’ podcast for an exclusive conversation with The Office co-stars Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly) and Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin).

During the conversation, Steve reveals what it was like to be on The Office, play the one-and-only Michael Scott, and of course, the trio couldn’t help but reminisce on their favorite Michael moments.
“It was one of those parts that you just pray that you get,” Carell said of auditioning for the part of Michael Scott. ”It just seemed like, what a perfect thing to be a part of.”
Carell shared he takes pride in forming his own version of Michael Scott, a character that had already been brilliantly played by Ricky Gervais on the previously aired British version of the sitcom.
“We [Steve and producer/writer Greg Daniels] discussed the character and talked about his labels are and what is dreams and hopes,” Carell said. “I had a pretty specific take and it wasn’t Ricky Gervais’.”
“I’ve told this story a million times, but I chose not to watch the British version because I didn’t want that to influence whatever this version was going to be.”
Steve’s take on the character proved to be a success as it created long-lasting jokes that continue to make Office fans laugh and continue to bring viewers back to watch the seasons over and over again.
Angela Kinsey admitted one scene she can’t get enough of is when Carell’s character explains how he burnt his foot on a [George] Foreman Grill, bringing out a special kind of frustration that leads to endless viewer laughter.
