During a recent conversation with Audacy, Anitta opened up, sharing some tools she uses to help maintain her mental health, and her thoughts on how social media could be better if people started being “more real.”
LISTEN NOW: I'm Listening - Discussing mental health with Anitta
Some tools that help Anitta maintain her mental health include, “therapy, I do it every week, also meditation,” she shared. Also noting her therapist has a podcast that she listens to that focuses on “different meditations for each problem you might have. Like anxiety or fear of everything, so I just play it and I do the different meditations.”
“Music helps me a lot for my mental health,” Anitta also went on to share, “because I just think music has the power to change our mood. So every time I feel like I’m falling, I try to be up, y’know highest level of my frequency. Listening to music that’ll make me feel happy, that’ll make me feel soft, good energy — that’s definitely a tool for me to feel better.”
When it comes to social media behavior, Anitta thinks “people should start…being more real” and “honest” when it comes to “the struggles and the realities of life.”
She continued, “because I think the problem is like every one on social media wanna seem very happy, wanna look very perfect for each other. And I think if [we] all start being more real to each other, understanding, making everybody understand that we all go through struggles - we all have sad, happy moments, it’s part of life - we’re for sure gonna learn to deal with our frustrations better.”
