98 Degrees has recently come back after a brief stint apart. Now, as they are working to make music again, they also are working to bring attention to Spears' current situation.

Timmons has known Spears for over 20 years and is not claiming that he is best friends with her or has any inside scoop. However, he said he cannot sit by while she fights for freedom.

Many believe that Spears was taken advantage of in her rise to stardom, and Timmons said that with fame comes people who aren't always looking out for your best interest.

"When the spotlight is on you, you'll have those people come around you, and it can even be family and friends at times that are not looking out for your best interest," Timmons said. "That happens to everybody at some level, so I can't imagine how it affected her at her superstar status."

Timmons shared that when he started, it was challenging to learn the business. He also said that it was non-stop work.

"It's hard to take a breath," Timmons said. "In our 20's, as guys that felt we had our stuff together, it was tough for us, let alone a young female at 17 or 18 years old. I just can't imagine."

When it comes to her conservatorship, Timmons was clear with his thoughts.

"I think it's a travesty," he said.

Timmons has been working to bring attention to the #FreeBritney movement hoping that he can help free her from her current situation.

"I think it is only a matter of time before she is let loose out of this crazy constraint she is in, and hopefully, it's sooner rather than later," he said.

Spears' original case to remove Jamie Spears from his position as the conservator over her estate was denied by a California court just one week after giving an emotional testimony of the conditions she was living in.

Since then, Spears had requested the court to allow her to hire a new lawyer. The request was approved on Wednesday, and now she will be able to choose her lawyer after being represented by Sam Ingham III for 13 years. Ingham was appointed as her attorney by Mr. Spears.

Spears had talked to the court about the things she had endured under her father's conservatorship for 13 years.

Spears took to Twitter sharing her excitement that she was under new representation with a video of her riding a horse and doing cartwheels.

Like Timmons, many have come out to support Spears' motion to be removed from her conservatorship. Likewise, many came to the hearing in Los Angeles to support her.

As of now, Spears is continuing to fight for her freedom, and when it comes to whether or not she should be allowed to run her life, Timmons sees a logical answer.

"I think it's this simple and this logical, if you are able to go out and do a hundred plus shows a year and perform to the level that she performs at these shows and generate hundreds of millions of dollars, then you can take care of your own finances, you can take care of yourself, and you can take care of your family," he said.
