Josh Duhamel has said ‘I do’ to “Shotgun Wedding.”
The 48-year-old will co-star alongside Jennifer Lopez in the action comedy following Armie Hammer’s exit from the project last month, reported Variety.
After weeks of speculation, Lionsgate confirmed Duhamel’s casting.
"We couldn’t be happier for our bride and groom of this 'Shotgun Wedding,'" Erin Westerman, the president of production for the Lionsgate Motion Pictures Group, said in a statement.
“We know Josh and Jennifer will make a compelling and sexy on-screen couple and they will be fun sparring partners as their dream destination wedding erupts into a memorable nightmare."
Hammer dropped out of the production after alleged social media messages that were reportedly his were leaked online. The alleged messages were sexually explicit and included cannibal fantasies, according to the New York Post.
“I’m not responding to these bull**** claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that,” Hammer previously said in a statement.

In addition to “Shotgun Wedding,” Hammer has also dropped out of the upcoming Paramount+ series, “The Offer.”
Earlier this week, Hammer’s estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, released her first statement directly addressing the controversy.
“I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated. Heartbreak aside, I am listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters,” Chambers wrote on Instagram. “I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know.”
“Shotgun Wedding” will also feature “Kiss of the Spider Woman” actress Sonia Braga and “Legally Blonde” star Jennfier Coolidge as the respective mothers of Lopez and Duhamel.
Production on the film is expected to begin this month in the Dominican Republic.
