The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host will be hosting the 72nd Emmy Awards
This is his third time hosting.
He says, “I don’t know where we will do this or how we will do this or even why we are doing this but we are doing it and I am hosting it.”
It was thought that the event would be postponed due to the pandemic, however it will still take place on Sunday, September 20th on ABC.
Nominations were supposed to be revealed on July 14th but that got pushed off and they will now be announced on July 28th by the Television Academy.
#ProBowl
The 2021 Pro Bowl is heading to Las Vegas.
It will take place at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, January 31st.
The 2021 Pro Bowl will be a weeklong celebration of football and will feature various activities in Las Vegas including the NFL FLAG Championship games, AFC and NFC team practices and the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown.
Tickets will go on sale later this year.
#MentalHealth
Poll: The U.S. hasn’t been this bummed out in nearly 50 years.
Just 14% of American adults say they’re very happy, down from 31% who said the same in 2018.
Other findings include the public is less optimistic today about the standard of living improving for the next generations than it has been the past 25 years.
About twice as many Americans report being lonely today as in 2018, and not surprisingly, given the lockdowns, there’s also been a drop in satisfaction with social activities and relationships.
#7Eleven
There will be no 7-Eleven day where customers get a free Slurpee this year because of the pandemic.
This is the first time it has been canceled in almost 20 years.
Every July 11th, the chain celebrates their birthday by giving out the treats but since it attracts millions of fans to stores, they want to make sure customers are safe.
However, there will be a way for you to still get a free Slurpee.
In July, all 7Rewards loyalty app members will receive a coupon for one free medium Slurpee in their account.
It will be valid all month long so you can slurp at a social distance.
