#Eminem
o The rapper has officially returned with “Houdini,” the first single from his forthcoming new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).
o In the song and video, he recreates his iconic song “Without Me” where present-day Eminem sets out to find his ’02 self, and running into some familiar faces like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and more.
o In the song, you may hear a familiar sample. It’s “Abracadabra” by The Steve Miller Band.
o The Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer is now thanking Eminem for using his song from 1982.
o He said in a post, “Hey EM… You are one of those timeless originators building something new on a long musical legacy of original artists. There aren’t many artists who take the time or make the effort to stand up for themselves and credit and respect their influencers at the same time. Marshall Mathers you are an exception and on my short list of people who respect the art. To be included in your process feels good while I’m still singing and playing the music I love. I’m Honored.”
o No official drop date has been announced for Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) but it is expected to arrive at some point this summer.
