It's a day anyone in the Las Vegas community, and frankly the world, will never forget. A horrific attack on concert-goers at the Route 91 Harvest Festival on October 1st, 2017.
Dozens died. Hundreds injured. Countless affected.
What came out of that day, however, was a community that rallied to support those affected, whether they were Las Vegas residents or visitors to the city we are so proud of.
It's in that spirit that the 1 October Memorial Committee are moving forward with plans for a permanent memorial site to be placed at the northeast corner of the Route 91 Harvest Festival grounds.
We spoke with committee chair Tenille Pereira to get a better understanding of their mission with the memorial, and how important community involvement is in their decision making.
Your opinions are incredibly welcome! The committee welcomes all affected, directly and indirectly, to submit their survey answers at ClarkCountyNV.gov/1octobermemorial to help shape the final result at the site.
